Season 16 Teams and Coaches
Season 16 brings us 16 competitive teams at our gym in Colburn - we are ready for our biggest season yet! This will also be the first year which we will be taking 3 teams internationally and we can't wait to see what other opportunities we can bring to our athletes in future seasons!
Pink By The Beach - Bournemouth 2024!
On the 7th July 2024 Lazer Pink headed down to Bournemouth to take part in Future Cheer Internationals, the largest competition in the United Kingdom! After an incredible season these ladies put on a show, giving their best all round performance to end season 15 at their strongest! Despite being in a very competitive division they managed to walk away 1st place in their division - Senior level 4 small. All athletes received a 'hit zero' badge for their perfect performance and we got to celebrate that afternoon doing some stunts in the sun and playing on the beach. This was an incredible end to an incredible season for our Pink Ladies.

A very successful season 15!
With just one team still to attend their final competition of the year we have done a round up from the 2023/2024 season. This was definitely a year for the history books with many firsts and our best competition results to date.
Update: After Pink attended Bournemouth and won our grand total is now 25 1st place finishes at competitions and 30 hit zero runs!

Cheer City Nationals June 2024
We had a VERY successful competition at Cheer City Nationals in Loughborough this past weekend! All 14 teams managed to place in the top 3 in their divisions which is so difficult to do! 9 of our teams also managed to hit zero - meaning that they had flawless routines without any mistakes. We also managed to walk away with 6 of our teams as Grand Champs which meant that they had the highest cross across multiple divisions within their age groups. This is the most Grand Champs we have ever had at a single competition and something we are incredibly proud of.
All athletes received a participation medal and those that Hit Zero also got a card to attach to their bags to celebrate their achievement. Teams who got Grand Champs also received a T-shirt!
The celebrations were not finished there though as we were also presented with 2 judges choice awards! The first was presented to Lazer Pink for Mastering the fundamentals of level 4. It was so lovely for our athletes to be recognised for their hard work in their basic technique so that they can go out and hit a really strong high level routine with confidence.
Then athlete Eva Langdale won an individual award for her performance with Lazer Sapphire for her Excellent showmanship during her routine. We are so happy that judges could see Eva's love of the sport through her performance and that she got a stand out award to be celebrating for this!
And then the day finally ended with us winning not just one, but two bids to the AllStar Worlds in April 2025 for Lazer Sapphire and Lazer Pink. What an incredible way to end our final whole program competition of the season.
Well done to all athletes who competed with us and as always, a huge thank you to all spectators for your continuous support and dedication to our program. We are so lucky to have every single one of you as part of our program and we cant wait for the season 16 journey to begin.

Team England
24th/25th April – ICU World Cheerleading Championships 2024 at ESPN
The ICU Cheerleading World Championships is held every April at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida. Countries from around the globe are brought together to compete their routines in the hope of winning for their country. Divisions are split by both age group and ability. This year we were lucky enough to have 7 athletes from Lazer Cheer make the national teams; 4 on Youth All-Girl Advanced and 3 on Junior All-Girl Elite (both teams in the highest difficulty division that their ages allow). Team England took 3 teams to compete at the ICU Worlds this year which was 72 athletes in total – to have 7 of these athletes come from our small gym in North Yorkshire is an outstanding achievement and we could not be prouder of them.
As this was training for the national team our athletes had to commit to lots of travel as part of their training. They would train in smaller groups at our gym in Colburn regularly but would have to travel to Coventry or London every month or two to take part in a few days training residential. These sessions were very long, and the athletes worked incredibly hard to be able to get the whole team to a high standard even though they did not train together that often. The athletes attending several training sessions out in Florida for their final preparations before the competition began. They also got to train on the famous football field where they did a showoff of their routines for all the Team England supporters.
Our girls got to take part in an Olympic style opening ceremony where athletes Lucy Eva, and Charlotte were chosen to hold the signs and flags for England and the United Kingdom. Athlete Eva was also chosen by her coaches to be a team captain of the youth all-girl team. Eva is a fantastic role model and leader to our athletes at Lazer Cheer Academy and we are so happy that the national team coaches recognise and celebrate the great qualities that she brings to the sport.
The competition took place over 2 days. After the first performances on day 1 the junior team were sat in 4th place and the youth team were sat in 2nd place, behind Team USA. They remained calm, focused, and approached day 2 of the competition with great attitudes. The energy in the arenas for day 2 were electric and there were some tears watching our athletes shine on the Worlds floor. Even before the awards ceremony, our athletes were already super proud of everything they had achieved with their teams and the outcome of the competition was not the focus, they had represented their country with perfect routines and enjoyed every single moment of it, where they placed came as an extra well-deserved surprise.
Junior All-Girl Elite managed to climb up the placing and finish on the podium in 3rd place receiving a bronze medal in one of the toughest divisions. All athletes and coaches were thrilled with this result and there were many tears of joy from both the Team England athletes and supporters. Youth All-Girl Elite managed to outscore Team USA on day 2 and ended up finishing in 1st place receiving a gold medal and World Champion rings. The athletes were in complete shock that they had just become World Champions and again, there were lots of happy tears from everyone.
This is the first season we have had any athletes compete for Team England Cheer so to be walking away with all 7 as medallists is a huge achievement for them personally and for us as a club. The other athletes in our program look up to these athletes like they are celebrities now and we have already had them in our gym in their Team England uniforms, medals and rings to inspire the next wave of athletes in to seeing what opportunities are possible through our sport of Cheerleading. 2024 is a year that athletes Sienna, Eva, Rose, Skylar, Lacey, Charlotte and Lucy made history for Lazer Cheer and it is one we will never forget.

Ice Queens - The Open Orlando and The Summit
27th/28th April – The Open Orlando 2024 at Universal Studios
The team Ice Queens is made up of 18 athletes who compete a 2 minute 30 second routine for a panel of judges. Their routine is judged on both how difficult it is and on how well they perform it. This competition took place in Universal Studios in a venue directly under one of the largest rollercoasters in the park – this was a unique and exciting experience for our athletes. After an incredible day 1 performance where they hit zero (meaning they got zero deductions because they hit their routine perfectly) they were sitting in 1st in their division, and they had the 2nd highest score of the entire competition! Our athletes did have some down time that afternoon where they were able to enjoy the theme park and celebrate their amazing routine from that day. They returned the following day to put out another great performance of their routine which gained them first place in their division. As winners they received a large banner for the team and they also each received a champion ring to wear with pride and celebrate their achievements. |
2nd May – The Summit 2024 at ESPN
Although we had been crowned winners of The Open Orlando, we had to get straight back in the gym the following day to best prepare ourselves for our final competition of the trip – The Summit! Whilst in Florida our athletes had the privilege of training at some of the largest gyms in the world including Top Gun Allstars and Brandon Allstars which both have multiple World Champion teams. Whilst training at Top Gun we had some World Champion athletes watch our team which was crazy for our girls to experience as they are like celebrities within the cheer community.
The team took part in showoffs at Disney’s Allstar Sports resort with over 30 other teams. The Ice Queens hit their routine perfectly even in the Florida heat with the sun shining down on them which helped boost their confidence heading into The Summit competition. For The Summit teams have to win bids in their home countries in order to be allowed to enter – Ice Queens won their bid last June at a competition in Liverpool. The team has athletes from age 11 all the way to 17 but they are all exceptional athletes and have a bond like a large group of sisters.
On the 2nd May Ice Queens took to the floor to compete at The Summit 2024. They received a large banner for qualifying for this prestigious event and because their routine was faultless they also received a ‘Peak Performance’ award. Athletes were awarded with a ‘Hit Zero’ badge to celebrate their no deduction performance and they also got a large medal each. We were in an incredibly tough division but we are really proud that we managed to hit our routine perfectly at our first ever time at The Summit and we are happy that we managed to outscore 24 other teams in our division too.

BCA Worlds Showdown (Worcester) - January 2023
Lady Reign (IO5) travelled to Worchester to compete for the first time this season. They attended a competition where they go against all UK teams who are also going to worlds this year. We did not have the perfect run we had hoped for but we did have lots of great moments during our routine and we came together as a team and demonstrated lots of resilience and everyone gave it their all until the end of the routine. Our girls managed to come 16 out of 22 teams - they were able to place higher than teams who had already attended worlds even though it was their first year attending the competition. Without the deductions we could have placed even higher - our aim for the rest of the season is to be able to hit zero and perform a routine without any mistakes.
Christmas Party 2022

ICE Blizzard February 2022
BCA Winter Weekender December 2021
We did it !!!! ………after 21 long months we finally got to compete again and what a fantastic day it was.
There were definitely moments these last few weeks when I felt my stress levels couldn’t get any higher but seeing our Athletes out on that floor makes every second worthwhile. Every Athlete that was meant to compete made it to comp so at least for 1 day we beat Covid.
Thank you to parents for your continued support I know how much you have all missed comp day too but probably not the comp hangover. To our new Parents I hope you enjoyed your first comp and it wasn’t too daunting.
Team Parents thank you for getting our teams ready and organised for warmup it really does take the pressure off the coaches and we appreciate your help. As our programme continues to grow you are a vital piece of the puzzle between coaches and parents and we can not thank you enough.
Last, but definitely not least our amazing coaching team I certainly wouldn’t want to do this job without you all. From the bottom of my heart I can not thank you enough for your help not just this weekend but for everything you do for these kids. You all work so hard to give them the tools they need to succeed not just in cheer but in life and you genuinely care about every one of them. They are extremely lucky to have you all as role models.
Cheer isn’t just about the tumbles or the stunts it’s about family and caring for each other and knowing that you have a support network around you that will always be there no matter what. Seeing our Athletes grow in confidence and watching them blossom in to amazing young people is the best feeling ever. So Well Done everyone we are so happy with the results from our first comp of the season and can not wait to start working upgrades to our routines ready to compete again next year.

Rishi Sunak came to visit
Now that the article has been released here’s a few more photos from Mr Sunak’s recent visit to our gym. He was so lovely and genuinely interested in what our athletes do both at cheer and school/college. He was so impressed with their talent and commitment to our sport and he said it had been one of his favourite visits. Huge thank you to Lazer Scarlett for letting us all crash your training session the atmosphere you created that night was electric!
Season 13 begins...
Now that we have a new home - we are ready for the new season! Team placements for season 13 have now been given out and teams are ready to begin training hard and getting back to competitions!
We have moved to our new home!
Virtual competition success
On 1st May 2020 Lazer Royalty took part in a virtual competition in the USA. This competition involved teams sending in a pre-recorded video of their routine and then they were all live streamed to competitors to watch and awards were given out at the end. Lazer Royalty won their division and also came away with two overall awards - Best stunts (of the whole competition) and Best Choreoraphy (of the whole competition) - we are extremely proud of the continued hard work you have all put in through lockdown and whilst we are unsure of what will happen with the future of this team, we know that every athletes future within Cheerleading is very bright!
|
On 25th April 2020 Lazer Royalty took part in their first ever virtual competition in the USA. Although Covid put an early stop to their competitive season they were still able to enjoy a unique experience going up against other teams virtually. All of the hard work they had put in through the season was worth it when they walked away being the champions in their division! We are super proud of all of you for your continued dedication and resilience during this challenging time.
|
We also competed our whole program in a virtual BCA competition so that all athletes could have they feeling of getting to finish off their competitive season. All of our teams did really well and it gave us a great boost to feel that we could get through covid despite all the challenges that it kept giving us.
Lazer Royalty were also lucky enough to receive a bid to the All Star World Championships in Florida in April 2022. These athletes have continued to prove time and time again just how strong they are as a team and how much they deserve to be competing in the USA. What a year 2020 has been for the ladies of Lazer Royalty!

Royalty go across the pond for CheerSport Nationals 2020
Lazer Royalty - Junior International 1 went to Atlanta, GA for their first ever American competition in February 2020. The athletes have worked incredibly hard all season and managed to win at Cheersport Nationals! They have had the experience of a lifetime and deserved their National Champions title! Our girls managed to get Zero Deductions badges on BOTH days of competitions and also received a champions medal and National Champions leather jacket for their achievement!
Coaches Chelsea, Mandy and Will are so excited to see what Royalty will achieve later in the season with their continuous hard work and determination! We are so proud of our little Queens x
